“If It Aint One Thing...It's Another” chronicles a world of change and indifference, each story bringing you closer to very humanistic issues that are ever present in today’s society.  A couple’s angst over an unexpected pregnancy, The introduction of homosexuality into a family, Domestic Abuse, Life with a spouse infected with AIDS, A matter of infidelity; confrontation of a cheating spouse, A woman trades her innocence for her partner’s addiction, and a betrayed, jilted woman seeks out revenge.  Mirroring our own lives, drawing upon ones own empathy and in some cases; the need for resolve…

Reviews

Each individual story touched on real-life issues.  Kisha Green’s story, “Fool No More,” had my eyes riveted to the page. The fact that a woman could be shocked to the point of wanting to hurt somebody, says it all.  The Other Woman” by Leila Jefferson made me feel lucky not to be involved in a love triangle like the three characters: Chaundra, Quanita and Romel were caught up in.  All of the contributing authors did a great job in creating credible stories with real life issues. I’d definitely recommend this anthology for your bookshelf. – Author Teresa D. Patterson (It’s Your World, Black Girl!)

I must admit that I am not one of a short story reader of a group of short stories and poems, but publisher Kisha Green has turned these short stories into a must read!

From the First story, Fool No More, to the final story, Torn. I was floored and wanting more and more. I found each story to be interweaving of the previous one and all had start middle and a end, even if the ending was one that I did not want or it came too soon.

There were a total of 9 authors who as the jacket of the book suggest are some of the Hottest Newcomers to the Literary Community.  These authors deserved that title as well as to be published and have each of their short stories turned into major book deals in the near future in opinion.

The back of the book gives us the credits of each author and even includes some Helpful link's and numbers for help and general information.  I say BRAVO to all of the author's and the publisher DivabooksInc.- J aka Cubbycub (Atlantic City,NJ)

If It Ain't One Thing It's Another is a capturing anthology for your reading pleasure! It is a collection of stories that will not only capture your heart but also make you think. "The Other Women" by Leila Jefferson is a story that has your brain from the title to the last word wondering what is going to happened in this love saga.  All the authors did a great job! Keep up the great work!~ (4Sistas Only Book Club, MD)

Not myself one to read short stories, I must say that "If  It Ain't One Thing It's Another"    was a correlation of life, that had me sitting at the edge of my seat. Each story had me engulf with the next turn of events. All of the authors did a fantastic job in presenting a" life on a plate" synopsis and then a "deal with it" ending. "Mikki's Anniversary" by A. Kai had me literally in tears. By the time I had read "Clueless" by Endy. I was talking to the book...I found myself clinging to each and every story, Forgetting I myself had submitted "The Woman In the Mirror". 9 authors, all with a life story to tell. Each with a cliff hanging experience.. A must have for every personal library. My hat goes off to author Kisha Green for seeing a vision and seeking the promise. Great Book! ~ Shaunte Smith (York,PA)
